Polycarboxylate Ester Superplasticizer Powder

Polycarboxylate Ester Superplasticizer Powder is polycarboxylate ester based high performance copolymer powder designed for highest concrete quality. It is a powder form Supperplasticizer for cement, mortar and concrete products no matter the products are made from Portland Cement (or other siliceous cement such as slag cement, fly ash cement, etc. or high alumina cement. Polycarboxylate Ester Superplasticizer Powder is widely used in various grouts, self-leveling screeds, floor screeds, high performance concrete, ultra-high-performance concrete, pumpable concrete, etc.

Polycarboxylate Ester Superplasticizer Powder is a neutral concentrate grade, it is mainly used as a mother material together with other functional admixtures to produce different types of high performance water reducers for targeted industrial. It complies with ASTM C 494, Type F specifications.

Dry mixed homogeneously with other ingredients of dry mortar and packaged as one product, which can be at job site mixed with recommended dosage of water for application. Recommended dosage is 0.01-0.30% based on binder weight. The detailed dosage of Polycarboxylate Ester Superplasticizer Powder should be determined by test in advance according to local raw materials and construction regulation.

The recommended dosage of the Polycarboxylate Ester Superplasticizer Powder water reducer for concrete is: 0.2 - 0.3% of the cementitious material usage. The water reducer is a powder mainly composed of polycarboxylate, with a solid content of 95 - 97% (including 3 - 5% water), and the normal dosage is 0.2% - 0.3%. When the dosage is only 0.08%, it has a 15% water reduction rate and a 25% strength increase, which exceeds the effect of the commercially available ordinary pumping agent. When the dosage is 0.2%, the performance exceeds the level of general naphthalene-based and sulfonate-based high-efficiency water reducers. When the dosage reaches 0.20% or more, the workability and pumping performance of the concrete are better. The optimal dosage is 0.2 - 0.25%.

When configuring high-strength, large-dosage fly ash/slag micro-powder concrete and concrete with special requirements, the dosage can be increased to above 0.3%, but generally not more than 0.5%. Experiments show that when the dosage is increased to 0.5%, the concrete does not produce cohesion or separation (dissolution) of the aggregate and paste, the water reduction rate still increases, but the air content increases, the setting time is delayed, and the strength decreases.
