2. Classification
Concrete admixtures can be divided into four main types based on different functions:
①Admixtures that improve the flow properties of concrete mixtures, such as water-reducing agents, air-entraining agents, and pumping agents;
② Admixtures that adjust the setting time and hardening performance of concrete, such as retarder, early strength agent, accelerating agent, etc.;
③Admixtures to improve the durability of concrete, such as air-entraining agents, waterproofing agents and rust inhibitors;
④ Admixtures that improve other properties of concrete, such as expansion agents, antifreeze, etc.
At present, concrete admixtures are not limited to one function. They are often multi-functional compound admixtures. When used in concrete, they can achieve a multi-functional effect.
