PCE Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer Liquid Products Description
PCE Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer Liquid CAS NO. 70879-60-6 is a high-performance water reducer and a cement dispersant used in cement concrete. Polycarboxylate water reducer is suitable for prefabricated and cast-in-place concrete, reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete in high-speed railways, passenger dedicated lines, industrial and civil buildings, roads, bridges, ports, airports and other engineering construction.
PCE Liquid Water consumption sensitivity
Due to the use of PCE Polycarboxylate Superplasticizer Liquid, the water consumption of concrete is greatly reduced. The water consumption of single cubic meter of concrete is mostly 130-165kg; the water-cement ratio is 0.3-0.4, or even less than 0.3. Under low water consumption conditions, fluctuations in water addition may cause large changes in slump, causing the slump of concrete mixture to suddenly increase and water seepage.
Phenomenon
A mixing station uses a certain cement to prepare C30 concrete. The contract requires that the slump at the construction site be 150mm±30mm. When the concrete leaves the factory, the actual slump is 180mm. After being transported to the construction site, the concrete slump is measured at the construction site as 210mm. Two trucks of concrete were returned in succession. After verification in the factory, the slump is still 210mm, and there is bleeding and stratification.
Reason
The cement has good adaptability to this water reducer, and the water reducer dosage is slightly larger. The mixing time is not enough. The slump of the concrete when leaving the machine is not the real slump due to the short mixing time.
Prevention
For cement that is sensitive to the dosage of polycarboxylic acid-based high-efficiency water reducer admixtures, the admixture dosage should be appropriate and the metering accuracy should be high. Properly extend the mixing time. Even if it is a twin-shaft forced mixer, the mixing time should not be less than 40 seconds, preferably more than 60 seconds.
