Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate

Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate is also called Naphthalene-based high range water reducer, which is formed by sulfonating naphthalene and its homologues and then condensing with formaldehyde. The main components include polyalkylated aromatic sulfonates, etc., and it belongs to anionic type surfactants. According to the different content of sodium sulfate, it is divided into SNF-A(Na2SO4 less than 5%), SNF-C(Na2SO4 less than 18%). Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate/Naphthalene-based water reducer belongs to the early-strength type water reducer. The critical dosage of the highly efficient water reducer is 0.5%, the saturated dosage is 0.7%, the sodium sulfate content is 18% to 24%, and the recommended dosage is generally 0.5% to 0.75%. For high-concentration highly efficient water reducer, the critical dosage is 0.35%, the saturated dosage is 0.6%, the sodium sulfate content is 3% to 5%, and the recommended dosage is generally 0.35% to 0.6%. The products of Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate are mostly supplied in powder form.

(1) Under the condition that the concrete mix ratio remains unchanged, the water reduction rate of Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate is approximately 15% to 25%, which can increase the slump by 150mm to 200mm and increase the compressive strength by 15% to 20%.
(2) Due to the improvement of the compactness of concrete, the impermeability and frost resistance of concrete are significantly enhanced by naphthalene-based water-reducing agents/Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate.
(3) Excessive addition of naphthalene-based water-reducing agents/Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate does not affect the performance of concrete.
(4) Naphthalene-based water-reducing agents/Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate can be compounded with ordinary water-reducing agents, aliphatic water-reducing agents, and amino water-reducing agents, but can not be compounded with Polycarboxylate-based high performace water reducing agents.
